Events at Kania Lodge

Each spring and autumn Kania Lodge’s events calendar is full of wine, music, literary, gastronomic and other weekend happenings. Amongst the speakers and performers are leading winemakers and sommeliers from abroad, celebrated Polish musicians and well-known authors. The events are complimentary to lodge guests and open to day visitors with confirmed reservations for the limited number of additional places available. You can also listen to the Mykhalichenko sisters, Khrystyna and Sasha, you may have missed at a Kania concert in 2022.

Portugal's vinous treasure trove

Portugal is a treasure trove of little-known local grape varieties not found elsewhere in Europe. Many of them produce simply outstanding single varietal wines so if you've not yet met up with Arinto, Viosinho and Rabigato on your vinous travels, then join us at the lodge on DATE? when we'll be tasting these and other proudly Portuguese varieties like Touriga Nacional, Sousau and Tinto Cao. We'll  also be serving Portuguese food throughout the weekend including the ever-popular Cataplana, a signature seafood dish at Kania Lodge for many years. There'll also be Caldo Verde, a great cold weather soup and Pasteis de Belem, the much-loved custard tart from Lisbon which is topped with cinnoman and powdered sugar. With this you'll get taste a small glass Late Bottled Vintage Port we import from Infantado in the Duoro Valley

Autumn jazz concert

Grzech Piotrowski 

In a farewell to spring and hello to the summer ahead, one of Poland's best known contemporary jazz musicians will perform solo on the saxophone in what promises to be one of the lodge's events of the year. While Crzech takes you on an extraordinary musical odyssey you can take a well padded seat in the orangery or stretch out on a blanket in the park overlooking the vineyard. We'll be serving-non-alcohol and regular Cava during the afternoon event.

Andrzej Strzelczyk

A chance to learn all you need know about wine to impress your boss, business partners, best friends or wife/husband forever. Andrzej Strzelczyk, the award-winning sommelier who founded Poland's prestigious Wine Academy, will be with us to conduct morning and afternoon classes and sign the handsome Academy certificate confirming your able participation in the event. During both sessions you'll get to taste wines from leading wineries worldwide, learn how to put a decanter to good use, pair wines with food and much, much more. Lunch will be served during the mid-session break and you'll also have the opportunity to explore the gardens, park, vineyard and lakefront at Kania Lodge in all its resplendent autumn colours.
