Add all this to our reputation for fine food and wine ("one of the best restaurant wine lists in the world,") says the Wine Spectator in New York and who wouldn't want to spend a weekend or make a day of it at Kania Lodge? Agnieszka and Andrzej Sowa concert
Saturday, 17 May 2025
Encore concert
Agnieszka i Andrzej Sowa
Agnieszka and Andrzej Sowa’s two French impressionist concerts in the spring and autumn last year were much loved by guests and they’ve kindly agreed to perform again for us in May. What could be more in tune musically on a (hopefully) sunny spring day than listening to Debussy, Ravel, Faure, Massenet, Saint -Saens and Satie with a glass of chilled white wine in hand while overlooking the lodge vineyard? The couple have played at venues around the world, including New Zealand, where Saint-Saens piece the Swan helped bring fame and fortune to ballerina Anna Pavlova at the beginning of the 20th century. The ethereal music and her performance in tutu skirt, silk bodice and goose feathers helped give birth to New Zealand’s light an airy dessert, Pavlova. We’ll be serving the lodge’s much-loved version of it during the intermission.
Passionate Tuscany
Saturday, May 24, 2025
Guest: Mario Mancuso
One of Tuscany’s greatest strengths lies in its ability to produce not only affordable, everyday wines but also some of Italy’s most celebrated icons such as Vino Nobile, Brunello, and the legendary Super Tuscans. In our view, no one represents this full spectrum better than Carpineto – a remarkable family-run winery from the picturesque region of Greve. On the weekend of May 24, we will have the pleasure of hosting Mario Mancuso from Carpineto, who will conduct an exclusive tasting session showcasing both the winery’s well-known classics – Originale, Dogajolo, and Chianti – as well as the distinguished Vino Nobile Riserva and a Super Tuscan made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon. During the presentation, guests will enjoy traditional Tuscan salami and prosciutto, while listening to Mario’s stories about the wines, vineyards, and heritage of Carpineto.
