Wine weekends in March and April
Stay two nights for the price of one, breakfasts included, during these special wine and food weekends at Kania Lodge. The tastings of at least eight wines are tutored by sommeliers Wojciech Boguniecki or Tomasz Kolecki, four time Polish sommelier of the year and world finalist. Tastings will be followed by dinners highlighting food from the country or region from which that tasting wines are sourced. Kania Lodge's 'grappa' and oak-aged vodkas can be tasted with our compliments after dinner.
The all inclusive price for these events is 230 zl per person.
* March 14-15 - ITALY
Puglia in southern Italy produces the full, fruity wines that most people in Poland love. We'll be tutoring a tasting of a selection of Primitivo and Negromaro from several producers and introducing an inexpensive but very expressive appassimento that you'll love. We'll introduce you to taralli during the tasting and serve frisella, orrecchiette cima di rapa and Puglian fish and meat dishes.
* March 21-22 - SPAIN
Eight outstanding wines from Rioja, Ribero del Duero and Rueda (two whites, six reds, including our best selling Reserva de la Familia from Luis Canas. Twelve different tapas to choose from at dinner including albondigas, spicy Spanish meatballs, and grilled prawns.
* March 28-29 - MEDITERRANEAN
It's just 20 minutes by plane from Cyprus to Lebanon but the wines couldn't be more different. You'll learn how and why during our tutored tasting of classic wines from the Trodos mountains in Cyprus and Lebanon's Bekaa Valley. Mouth watering Lebanese and Cypriot mezze plus shish taouk and lamb kofta to follow.
* April 04-05 - POLAND
Polish wines get better and better and the owner of Winnice Rymanow, Jacek Pydo, will be with us to show wines that we've tasted and like so much we are adding them to the Kania Lodge wine list, one of the best in the world according to the New York Wine Spectator. You'll also get to taste Kania Lodge's 2018 Rondo, the best red wine we've ever produced and our outstanding 2019 vintage 'grappa' made from red and whites grapes grown on the estate.
* April 18-19 - NEW ZEALAND
With summer on its way there's no better time for us to unveil our selection of new Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris from New Zealand and to remind you just how good our other Sauvignon Blancs are. Kania Lodge's signature fish, chicken and beef pies will be on the dinner menu along with other choices including fish.
